#MchenoBudding: Focus on Major Static Clothing

Zimbabwe is witnessing a growth of young fashion creatives, and our particular focus here on emerging names and brands in the Zimbabwean fashion space is Major Static Clothing (stylized MST Clothing) and it’s dreamchasing founder, EmSwiss.

It’s hard to imagine EmSwiss (born Munashe Mushati) didn’t make the cut for the Fashion and Fabrics class at his high school. But EmSwiss had always been having studying fashion.

He used to stay up late to watch the red carpet shows on E! But fashion wasn’t the first thing he pursued. We all have that “rap superstar phase”In 2022, he made the bold move to quit music and venture into fashion.

The first time wasn’t the charm for the young visionary, as he discovered he’d chosen an already existing name for his brand. The temptation to just model for other brands was strong, but EmSwiss’ dream was even stronger.

EmSwiss learnt from his mistakes, deepened his knowledge, and finally, that led to the birth of MST CLOTHING on March 23 2023.

From then, he’s singlehandedly tuned MST into a fast rising Streetwear brand, popular amongst the Ama2000’s, who grew up in a time of an urban culture with strong hip-hop influences and biases.

He’s already doing nationwide deliveries, he’s already had a Collab (with another rising brand; Suchi Nuchi).

At just 20, the only way is up for EmSwiss and his burgeoning brand.

For now, his focus is on building a strong team to take MST to the world.
