Skeyi and Strobo Fabrik Party (SS Fabrik Party), the sanctuary for every fashion head, creative, artist and street culture fanfare, is back this October, for its eighth edition—and, for the first time, as a three-day event. Dubbed the Fabrikans Convention, it is set to take place on October 27-29 at Alliance Française de Harare.

The co-founder of SS Fabrik Party Ulenni Okandlovu said preparations were going smoothly as they have been working tirelessly to ensure a flawless event. He says “We been working on this day and night, preps are going very well tickets are out already.”

The three-day Fabrikans Convention will feature workshops, a streetwear market, street art, photography exhibitions, fashion runways and showcases, alternative music and technology. The SS Fabrik Party will expand from a one-day event to a three-day convention because it is growing to accommodate the increasing number of artists and art forms in Zimbabwe.

The convention will also provide a platform for artists to share skills, learn from each other, and develop their craft. Ulenni says “It’s growth and need to expand, giving each and every art form enough space and time. We also more about skills sharing, learning and development.”

He went on to explain each day’s events. “Friday is dedicated to workshops, Saturday music and interactive activities (where people will co-create, paint, set design, imagine around 200 people painting and creating together, with dope curated sounds, DJs, live performances, exhibitions, street wear market, drinks and food stalls.”

This is an event not to miss if you are a fashion lover, music lover, art aficionado or tech guru. If you have been there for the past seven Fabrik Parties, you know the organisers always have a few surprises under their sleeve, so expect the unexpected. Ulenni is coy on the particulars of what to expect for the Convention, but assured fans that as always, it’s about giving people the best experience.

“We all about giving people the experience and surprises, hence we prefer not to share about that for now. Maybe we will few days before or will never just come and discover. We always bring you the coolest underground you don’t know about,” he said.

In preparation for event, they held a SS Fabrik Party Activation Tour across Zimbabwe to educate and connect with young creatives all over Zimbabwe. The tour has paid dividends as they were able to attract numbers to the big event.

“A good number has confirmed and yes we always bring you new ones you don’t know about,” said Ulenni. He confirmed that they were new brands which will showcase at the convention, “We will also have new brands from 4 different cities that we bring under the City to City Activations supported by ZGS Das Kollectiv.”

The SS Fabrik Party has hosted and curated seven successful editions, with the last edition bringing in around 800 guests and participants.

And this time they hope to have 1500-2000 attendees over the three day Fabrikans Convention.
